Blended Families (Part 3 - Who Needs an Estate Plan Series)

This is part three of a series of posts on why *everyone* needs an estate plan. For this post, I'll discuss blended families.

Without a written directive otherwise, your assets will all go to your spouse, with nothing to your children. You may wish to believe that your spouse will provide for your children from a previous relationship/marriage, but he/she is not required to do so. Why leave that to chance? If your wishes are set forth, there is no question as to what you wanted.
